A bit naive on my part but can women with silicon implants in their breasts undergo mammography? Hurts a bit this process even with non implants what about the ones who have should they be removed every time an annual check up is to be done?

Breast implants make it harder to detect breast cancer. However, mammography remains the best method for early detection of breast cancer.
Tell the mammography staff about your implants when you schedule your exam so that the staff can perform additional imaging using a technique called implant displacement views, which moves the implant out of the way to allow a better view of breast tissue.
MRI is the gold standard and ultrasound can be helpful as well. Check with your GYN about this.
how would you remove them? surgery? every year when you have one?????
they can have a mamogram no problem. and the drs know right away if you have them so dont think you’re trying to hide anything.
No. and No.
They undergo MRI.
